AstroTravel - Heading to Panama

Welcome to my first post about AstroTravel. A series in which I will explore my Astrogeographical blueprint in a practical way and let you in on the insights I have gained.

In 2022 I decided to align my travel plans with my AstroGeo to make my trips not only worthwile but also to bring travelling to a next level entirely. Every place I have travelled lies within 500 km of one of the planetary lines crossed at my birth-time.

First things first, if you're new to Astrogeography or Astrocartography, I will post a detailled "how-to" soon.

Why Panama?

Well, I've been travelling around Europe all year and it's been my goal to visit the Caribbean for once where I've never been to before. Traditionally, I escape during the holiday season in December simply because my hometown of Karlsruhe, Germany has nothing but rainy, grey and overall depressing weather and I learnt Vitamin D deficiency is a real thing. Also, my hometown falls right on my Chiron line - but I'll save that post for another time.

So, Panama! I've actually looked into all Central American countries before planning this trip, as I typically open AirBnB and let my splenic authority guide the way. This time, I open up my favorite app and the first listing was a floating lodge in Bocas del Toro, Panama. I fell in love instantly and booked right away - you can always cancel right? Well, I didn't :)

Later on, I checked my AstroGeo map and learnt that my Sun as well as my Uranus line run right through Panama. The decision was made. Interestingly, my Neptune runs through Colombia, the neighboring country so I also made sure to spend some time on my trip in the Eastern part of Panama, where this line's effect can be sensed as it lies within approx. 500 km.

For now, I will focus on my Sun line as the Sun not only has the most influence on us from all planetary bodies but because I'm still in a phase of downloading and processing my thoughts and the Sun's effects were most prominently felt which is why I have yet to tap into everything Uranus set free.

The Sun

Our Sun placement has the strongest effect on us which is also why it's such an important placement in our AstroGeo map. Generally, the Sun blesses us with the most positive impact as it improves our confidence and reputation as well as influence and success. When we spend time in places touched by our Sun line we feel confident, respected, energized, even admired and here we the odds of becoming successful in our endeavors are enhanced. Bear in mind the Sun is also connected to our ego which means we have an opportunity to step into our true power and connect to ourselves and our soul on another level. We're generally said to feel more at peace and experience ease in a new way. So quite literally, your Sun line will help you shine! Travelling to our Sun line sets us up for self-discovery and self-realization. As astro.com says, these places "promote regeneration, healing, and increased vitality".

The Midheaven (MC)

As the Midheaven or MC describes the place where the Sun peaks and therefore, brings the most influence. It promotes consciousness, power, and reputation which and relates to our career and life path. This can, generally, be experienced as heightened ambition and responsibility.

My Experience with Sun in Midheaven in Panama

According to astro.com regions touched by our Sun MC line have a positive impact for realizing ambitious plans, career advancement, and general fulfillment of our social position. We experience clarity on our goals and life vision especially career-wise, improved self-expression and success.

Honestly, when reading all this in preparation I almost expected my inbox to overflow with offers for new projects, which - disappointingly - didn't happen. Bummer. I suppose spending December as the time of the year where everyone prepares to wind down isn't the best time to expect business to thrive.

So I was surprised to see a few of my Fiverr Gigs picking up. There was even one I created for fun, for something I actually love doing but didn't expect to be able to monetize, which was purchased. I guess that counts as success :)

What I did experience however, was a bursting clarity in my ambitions. What I want to do, what I've outgrown career-wise and how I want to proceed. Especially the realization about having outgrown my current job was an eye-opener. I have never realized before that I had chosen a career path I didn't want to have in the first place. Ever since I started my profession I wanted to leave it and it's gotten to the point where my body is keeping me from doing it. Where I have to change. Not because I've experienced burnout, quite the opposite. When I returned from my vacation I first thought I was experiencing a massive jet-lag but having been home for a week now I highly doubt it's the jetlag keeping me from getting back to work.

What I didn't expect is for this path of self-discovery to be such an intense confrontation and more so a game changer. I opened up my eyes for clarity and I simply cannot unsee it. I've stepped into the light to experience enlightenment and I cannot go back into the darkness, into the shadow. Once you see clearly, it's all you can see.

This is especially confronting for me, as, even though I feel uncomfortable admitting it, I tend to walk around with eyes half closed, so I only see what I want to see. Quite literally even, I choose to walk outside and leave my glasses at home purposefully to avoid seeing things I don't want to visually process. It does make life a lot easier when you choose to see the beautiful things and avoid the ugly. Well, I suppose self-discovery also comes with a handy side-effect of being placed in front of a mirror and revealing what hasn't worked and what needs to change. So I'm moving forward not purposefully impairing my vision and standing my ground. I wished for empowerment and luckily this trip also equipped me with a boost in confidence and self-belief to follow my path.

None of the realizations I had came suddenly. I didn't stand in the light and experience a mental download. It was all processed slowly and drops of enlightenment and discovery gradually led to a moment of "Wait a second...". That's why it's exceptionally important to take time for tuning into your body in order to make the most of your AstroTravel experience.

Some of the things I did in order to receive and open myself up for my journey included

  • spending an excessive amount of time in nature reconnecting to mother nature and fully taking in the energy in my surroundings.

  • taking time by myself to sit with my thoughts.

  • eating fresh fruit and preparing freshly made dishes as often as possible.

  • digital detox.

  • resting and sleeping for a minimum of 8 hours a night.

  • gratitude practices.

  • letting my intuition guide the way.

If you want to find out how to make the most of your Astrogeography be it through travelling or relocating entirely, stay tuned.
